This is probably the best fitting chukka I own. It is comfortably snug through the instep and provides plenty of space for my toes. I did have Bedo's Leatherworks add a third eyelet at the top to help lock in my ankle better and reduce heel slip, which made the fit even better.

It felt like my tops of my toes we occasionally rubbing against the toebox during break-in, but that went away eventually. These are a favorite chukka because they have enough eyelets to lock my ankles in place and prevent heel slip. The only downside over nearly three years of wear is that the last is a lot wider than others I own and isn't as pretty to look at from the top down.

Ultimately, these were not a great fit. An 8.5E would have been better for my toes, but were unavailable. These 9D has too much volume for my feet, so I could never comfortably lock my ankles into place without cranking down the laces.

This pair features the recent modifications to the 2030 last, which result in a much better fit. (I've owned a previous pair in the same makeup and size that was too narrow.) Overall, these are a much better and comfortably snug fit for my 8.5D US feet.
