This was my first GYW shoe, and I remember being taken aback by how long it took to break in. I reserve these shoes for special occasions, so they've probably only gotten 50 wears in ~10 years. That means they're still in impeccable condition and I look forward to another 10 years!

Instantly comfortable, right out of the box. The kudu leather is tough and will take a beating, but it's more forgiving than cow leather for breaking in. The lug rubber sole looks great, is kind on your stepping action, and can handle any terrain. The craftsmanship is second to none. I'll definitely be expanding my Grant Stone collection

Badalassi Carlo Natural Minerva leather. The size is perfect. I can pull off a 9.5D adequately, but the 9E is perfect in both length and width. The leather soles softened up quickly and I'm still working on the outers. I can tell these will patina beautifully and relatively quickly. Super excited to put some miles on these.

My first GYW boot. Break in was reasonable -- maybe 10 wears. These are probably the boot I go back to most often. They're ultra versatile. These have the least forgiving sole in my collection, which includes Thursday, Allen Edmonds, Grant Stone, and RW Blacksmith. These have gotten hundreds of wears in a few years and they're holding up great. I maintain them carefully and insert shoe trees, so these suckers should still be kicking for another 10 years.

I'm pleased with the leather and the outsole, but I simply ordered a size that was too large. As a result, the insole is all wrong. I get a lot of heel slippage and the arch support is in the wrong place. This would be a fabulous starter boot for someone just getting into the welted boot game.

This was my value buy, and I'm satisfied but not overjoyed. The leather quality just doesn't stack up to Grant Stone, Redwing, or Allen Edmonds. But they're as comfortable as running shoes, the thick lug soles will go anywhere, and ultimately they make it into my rotation fairly often.
