Compared to most of my Red Wing 8 last boots in a size 8.5D, these 9.0D Higgins Mill boots fit, but are a more snug. I can only wear think socks with them.

I'm between a 9.5 and 10.0 brannock and I wear an 8.5D in Red Wing 8 last boots boots. These Beckmans fit me well but they are a bear to break in.

For some reason, these 8.5Ds fit were a little large on me, even though 8.5D is my normal size for all Red Wing 8 last boots. I added heel pads and strips of leather to the heel cup to make these work, and the fit is spot on now.

Fit is more snug than my other Red Wing 8 last boots that have the bulbous toe (Iron Ranger, Beckman and Rover). And so these required more time to break in - and I only wear them with thin socks. I think this is mainly due to the unstructured toe, that these fit a little more snug on me.

The fit but only with no shows or thin socks. A 10 will fit me, but I have to add heel pads...but then I can wear them with slightly thicker socks than I can with the 9.5.
