My first Grant Stone and they blew me away! I like the quality way better than Red Wing which is similar priced. I'm a size 7.7 D in volumental and GS's 7D fits perfectly! Both in width and length. The burgundy color is fabulous. No break-in! The lining feels excellent with my medium Darn Tough hikers!

I emailed Helm about sizing and went with 0.5 down and a D width. My foot is a very narrow E and all my shoes are D width. Initially, they fit snug in width but have loosened up nicely. They are still more snug than my Grant Stone and Thursday boots. There was some break-in and I got small blisters on both heels on a 30 min. walk. I can wear them at work all day though. I'm also starting to wear medium thick Darn Tough's now. I am getting some definite creasing on the leather. I use shoe trees but it's creasing more than my other boots and I wear them less. See the picture.

This is my first full day in them. There's plenty of room up front but they're not too long. I would call the D width very good for my wide D/ narrow E foot. No hot spots yet but I'm not on my feet constantly. I had a Nicks Urban Drifter try on boot and the Urban Logger feels very similar except in the heel height. The Chocolate Leather is a bit lighter and more orange looking that I thought but I think they'll darken some with time. These are incredible boots. I'm thoroughly enjoying them right off the bat.

RW did the Volumental sizing and gave me the 7.5D which is a fine fit. The soles are hard but they walk fine. I'm very satisfied with them and use them for work in rotation with other boots. No break-in and they feel fine on lunch walks. The leather seems to darken where my jeans rub on them. The leather looked dry as they were made in February and I didn't purchase them until Sept. I used a little Bicks 4 on them as I didn't want to darken the leather.

The fit is very good with plenty of room in the toes. The width is perfect. Grayle wouldn't let me use my volumental sizing which is 7.7 on left foot and 7.6 on right foot. The leather is nice and aromatic. The leather board on the midsole of the left boot heel has flaked off some and it's white underneath. Not a huge deal. There was no break-in and no blisters or hot spots. I'd rather pay a bit more for a full leather midsole.

Seidel Brown Roughout. The fit is a little short. The arch falls a little to far back. I'm a size 7.7D and thought the boots fit a little larger than they do. I should've bought the 7.5D's. Otherwise, they're a fabulous boot. If interested, see FB marketplace in Seattle area.
bikehappy1It's fitting better as I wear it more. I double checked sizing on White's website and it says that I have the right size.
Skeet1964Love these boots you have in the rough out. I noticed Bakers have some on sale in a 7.5 right now in their Last Chance boots, which I check daily. All my boots fit great in either 7.5D or a 7E. I’m breaking in some Dark Brown waxed flesh boots right now that I bought from Bakers Boots, it is a tough ( but beautiful ) leather. You’re right, 55 last is very different and takes time to get used to and to break in. It will flatten more in time.
