The Alden 405 is very comfortable. I typically walk about 2-3 miles per day and my feet feel fine at the end of the day when wearing these boots. The top of the quarters are close to touching when I lace the boots, but there is still about a 1 cm gap when tight.

Very comfortable at 10 E. Same size for me as the Alden Trubalance last. I tried these at 10.5 D and 10 D. 10.5 D was too long and 10 D was too snug at the ball and toes. I look forward to getting some Alden boots on the Barrie last at 10 E in the future.

I have limited experience with oxford dress shoes, but to this point, this is my favorite fitting oxford last. The shoes are very comfortable, even after walking more than a couple miles in a day. After the initial break in, there is a small V after lacing the shoes.

Dune Chromexcel from Horween
These fit very well with Kirkland Merino Wool Socks. Roomy toe box and comparable to the Alden Barrie and Trubalance last. Great for someone with a wide ball and toes.

Very good length and width, even at 10 D. The width at my toes is essentially the same as the width at the ball of my feet, and these boots fit well, even at the D width. To me, the boots also provide very good arch support. I would not pay full price, but I would buy a new pair at a 30% discount. These boots are surprising comfortable out of the box. In my opinion, the fiberboard footbed and leather outsole make this a very comfortable boot, even brand new.
