Fit and comfort have been my best, I remember my small toe being a hot spot but that went away in 3 days. Worn with thick Costco Merino's. Conditioning and cleaning was with Fiebling's Glycerin Saddle Soap Bar, and two coats of Obenauf's Heavy Duty LP soaked in.

Fit is good, although my left heel slips slightly, my left foot might have been better off with a C width or a half size down. Right foot seems about spot on except around heel to ankle. Plenty of space in the forefront and I had a relatively painless break in. This leather is a beast to break in! 2400+ hours down the road and they are still getting more comfortable. Very scuff and scratch resistant though! Oiled Latigo is a fast soft break in. I was there in about 30 hours give or take. But that leather just keeps breaking in. Color is amazing and I have zero complaints. Care is for a pull-up leather and I use Saphir's Medaille D'or 1925 Oiled Leather Cream to maintain my boots.

I use these for work, the length is way too short, in-step definitely isn't correct. Not Parkhursts fault but the boot doesn't flex right at all! I think I blew the size of this last out due to an incorrect fit, combined with Horween's tendency to have leather that stretches. I imagine I gained 30% in volume and I wore too thick of socks to stop sliding. The leather patina's nicely, stitching and everything seems great with this leather. The toebox is rather narrowed for me. Cleaned with water and a wipe down only, conditioned with Smith's leather balm(twice) and wiped down with water for cleaning. Heavily brushed before and after each wear. They pinch in the toes, and I have a lot of pressure in the ball of my foot. I have to wear thin socks and the only thing going through my mind is wanting to take these off unfortunately. They are a beautiful boot but I definitely purchased the incorrect size. I don't have enough length, and the boot flexes a half size to a full size off. Always stores with trees, I tried 600+ hours of wear to get these to work. Concrete floors at work. I have a video if that tells the story better. If I were to buy again it would be in a different leather. My question is whether or not to buy an 11.5D or a 12D depending on length and flex point? Sometimes going too short is just as bad as too long. Volume I think is only this bad due to large socks in the past and Horween leather, maybe too big of boot trees. All contributing to too much volume, not enough length, and exasperated by a highly physical job.

Fit was good but overtime the boot had a lot of volume. The biggest issue was not enough length. The flex area was painful and the boot just fits a half size short. As much as it pains me to admit a 12C would likely be the best fit for me.

The fit on it seems a bit volumous for me. But that is expected out of a C width. Charcoal Rough and Tough does not have the give that Copper Rough and Tough does. It also seems less elastic and a firmer temper than Amber or Black Harness. Not quite as firm as Featherstone though. The leather patina's well and with buffing gets a nice burnishing. Mine are worn at my work place and probably I average 7 miles a day. They don't really lock at the heel. The fit isn't perfect unfortunately due to me having a small ball width it often feels like I slip forward. I can wear them without any heavy discomfort. But I do feel pressure in the ball at the end of the day. Length is fine, flex point is ideal on the left foot, right is just a tad forward. On this last I have to go TTS on heel to toe which isn't ideal for a lot of people but my feet are odd. Overall they patina amazingly. But compared to Copper Rough and Tough the upper can lend itself to a much longer break in. I'm well north of 600+ hours in these boots and the leather upper still feels like with time it will comform to the foot better. Care to this Oiled Nubuck has been a water wipe down. Saphir Medaille D'or 1925 Oiled Leather Cream in Neutral suitable for pull-up leathers. I did over the winter months spray Saphir's Super Invulner which is good for imparting Nubuck's with water resistance. I wear them best with lightweight Darn Tough Spur Socks and Red Wings boot trees. They have been conditioned once since ownership but need a second coating. Overall I have found it to be an extremely low maintenance leather. It is scuff resistant and most things buff out. When the leather is dry it will start to scuff heavy, gouge, and the flex point will start feeling dry to the touch. Copious buffing helps but up here in the North, winter, heavy use lend me conditioning about every 4-6 months when worn two days a week. The Vibram 430 mini lug is extremely stiff. I can't help wondering if this boot would perform at a higher level in terms of comfort with a leather insole and a Vibram 700. Once I wear through the sole I plan to try that and see if the fit becomes better.

Fit was tight at first but I changed socks and went to leather laces. The provided waxed laces are short and don't allow for a good break in when wearing a medium weight to thick sock. Hence what I think so many individuals have an issue with the comfort. They have a half sole and fled quite nicely. Do keep in mind the Roccia outsole dry rots when not worn every 30 days. Often times if getting a dead stock boot you need to have it resoled as the sole crumbles away. Most Red Wing stores will provide this service for free as it was a defect with the old soles. Care routine given that it is a polishable leather is Saphir Medaille D'or 1925 Renovateur, Pommadier Cream Polish, and Pate Deluxe Wax Polish. Then buffed heavily.
