I don't own the St.Johns but actually own 2 pair of the Cornwalis on this same last. Both leather sole, one in navy the other in red.

8D on the 1943 last is the best AE fit for me: I love this fit. Feels like the highest arch of any AE I own. Shorter in length than my other AE, quite narrow heel, but pretty generous width at the ball of the foot
