Birkenstocks deserve their reputation as legitimately comfortable footwear—this was my first pair in almost 20 years and they new feel like two lost decades. Mainly used in summer, and with socks around the house in winter, I've found sz 44 (or true to size) to work absolutely perfectly. You could consider them a touch long, maybe, without socks—but the last thing you want with Birkenstocks is to have too SHORT of a footbed, and to risk stepping on the heel as you walk. And they fit CHUP socks beautifully come winter. The last and overall shoe are just so accommodating, my advice would be: don't overthink it. And DEFINITELY don't overthinking sizing down. Just don't do it.

These are a timeless, fantastic shoe. I haven't had the leather version of the boston, so I'm interested to see how it ages. Fit on these is perfect if I'm wearing socks, and slightly long if I'm barefoot. So, make sure you take that into consideration when ordering.

Have these in both black leather for work and brown suede for casual use

Break in on these takes about a month for workware. Itll be a bit taxing on your foot if you just go working 8 hour shifts in them unless youre in an office environment. As for casual break in. Not bad at all. Id say they start hurting around the 4 hour mark for me when i break them in. The non slip soul varient is pretty good but wears down relatively quick. And the only problem ive had with both shoes was the buckle ripping off after years of wear so be wary of that. Other than that super comfortable and definitely worth the price in my eyes.

2 weeks to break in and notice no foot fatigue. I stood all day in them. Super supportive. Can’t beat them.

Heel to ball is good. Too much volume in the upper. I correct this by adding an extra layer of leather. Footbed was a bit narrow initially, but has widened naturally with time.
