  Review

  My first horse hide pair, the leather feels supple yet strong and sturdy. Don't much like the black piping and white stitching. Was a samples pair. Great value for the craftsman ship. Broke in quickly, leather feels a bit thicker so width was an issue early on. I believe built on old last.

  I debate whether the Parkhurst lasts run true to size or a half size large. I have no complaints going down a half size from Brannock because the width in the quarter area is very generous but I feel these boots are a half size shorter compared to Alden Barrie/Trubalance lasts. I feel like a 9D would work with Parkhurst with thicker socks, but 8.5D is a great fit and is technically correct as far as heel to ball measurements go. I just can't wear super thick socks with the 8.5's.

  I love the boot. Really great quality. I have a slight toe pinch on my left toe box. The last is more of an almond shape. I’m not sue if I would size up though because the length is really good.

  Fit is generous for sure. With thick socks it is a more snug fit but squeezes my toes a bit due to the narrower toe box. With mid weight socks I have to be rather careful of tying them rather tight to get a good fit and not have the laces come undone. There was very little break in but that could change with updates to the build of this boot.

  These are on the outgoing 18 last and TTS for me. A bit long, but the toebox lines up and fits with toe wiggle. However, the heel is a bit wider than i'd like, but does not cause any heel slip.
